I am back in the damp and the dark. The difference this time is that I can move, and I am happy. It feels like I am home. The love I have been looking for my whole life is here, it is pouring through my body. Every self-help book that I have ever read has told me different ways of how to get to that place, but I have somehow found it on my own, by accident.
“Welcome, Phil.”
The voice seems to be all around me, it is as if I am inside it. This space, an underground cave of some type, seems to speak to me.
“I am yours,” I say.
The words escape from my mouth and shock me, then I realise that I mean them.
“I have been watching you for some time now, Phil. Waiting for you to find me. You and Leah were perfect together, you should both be here, all three of us would be so special together.”
“I know, I can feel what is missing. Being here is amazing, it is the happiest I have felt in my life, but I know that it is not quite complete.”
“No, not yet. We need Leah here. There is one problem, isn’t there?”
“Rob.”
“Exactly, he is not going to let you just take her. You need to get her alone, then bring her to me.”
I feel a decision has been made, determination floods through me. She will be mine, and she will be here. All three of us must be together, then my life will be complete.
“Don’t let her waste her life, Phil, she deserves more. Go get her.”
To be continued…
